When will I get sick of this show?
Never. Great sound, great setlist, great playing, great billy banter, simply great. The "When Will I" and the "Southbound > Black Clouds" are both the shizzzy. If you like moldy cheese do yourself a favor and pick this one up. Easily my most listened to show.
Oh, and get the night before, and especialy the night after. This was a great little NW showing by the cheese.

Thank you, thank you, thank you...
EEE knows how excited I am to have this show available here. My first incident was the previous night at the Showbox and over the course of the Puget Sound Run, my life took a profound turn. This 4th Ave Tav show is simply phenomenal. Six years later and my ANALOG SBD copies (thank you Ken Vasey!) are still in my freaking car. I am thrilled to have these shows on CD. Thanks, Edmund. Thanks also to Jon-O, who was nailing different venues every night back in those days. These recordings are pretty close to perfect.
Check out the setlist: Hobo Song, Sunny Skies>Blues Walk, Margarittaville, When Will I> Rhum'n Zouc> Ramblin Man. And that's the first set. The second set features a California Rain and one of the best Black Clouds I have ever heard. I could not appreciate how rare and special this show was at the time, but it (along with The Mothership the next night) may rate in my top five shows ever.
I am obligated to state that this was the last "When Will I" until they busted it out with the guy who wrote it (Monte Montgomery) on 9-26-03 in Atlanta. I implore you to listen to the interplay between each of the musicians as they delicately build towards the climax of the song. It is the best four minutes of Cheese I have ever heard. It gives me chills just about every listen. This is THE version.
Download this, burn this, love this, share this. March 98 may have been Cheese's "May 77".
